I want to know if (in case) I have messed up my game and it is only fixed by reinstalling, is that possible to re-download The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection from Origin (I have it on my account since the giveaway date back in 2014)?

It's like any other game copy you own on Origin- yes. - I did this 4 months ago when I had to buy a new laptop. I lost my previous save though so you will start from scratch.
- Yes, you can, but if you want to keep the save data, move the neighborhoods, pictures and more from The Sims 2 folder to The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection folder (in My Documents).
- Yes, I just did this yesterday.
