I had to reactivate my account just to comment here. But other than my fellow community friends, I am not going to mince words here because EA has lost all of my goodwill over the past couple of years.
The fact that EA has re-released the game without fixing this issue (when it has only taken Will 2 days to look into without access to the source code) and without making the game 64-bit is an absolute scandal. Now that someone has done the hard work for you FOR FREE, EA should sit down and actually address these issues properly for once. I am tired of the lazy cash grabs, I am tired of being treated like an idiot by EA, I am tired of the excuses. There is no excuse now. So what is it going to be? Are you actually going to address it or are you going to ignore the fact that the solution has been presented to you on a silver platter, which inadvertently sends the message that you are officially dropping support for Sims 2? Because simply ignoring uncomfortable issues has been part of the EA playbook for way too long now, and enough is enough. If EA refuses to preserve this game for the future, others inevitably will. But I fear EA will not like the outcome of that.
