Sims 2 not able to launch
Has anyone found a solution to Sims 2 not launching? I did try adding a 'w' to this file path (C:\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 2 Legacy\EP9\TSBin) as suggested by another user.
Help please :(

Yes I’m having the same issue anytime I try to launch The Sims 2 my computer freezes and I have to shutdown. Task manager freezes too when I try to close down TS2 through there.
Hi! The fix that worked for me is to add -w to your launch properties (in either Steam or the EA App):
For EA App, open the App game library, click the three dots in the upper-right corner of the Sims 2 Legacy icon, select View properties, and add -w to the command line box.
For Steam, add -w under Sims 2 > Properties > General > Launch Options.

I tried adding a -w to the command line box in EA App.
My computer is Windows 11, so I'm wondering if that is the issue?
This fix should work for both Win 10 + Win 11, sorry it didn't help!
BrightMeggie Are you seeing the DirectX 9 error or some other message?
This is happening to me as well
The sims 1 and 2 don’t seem updated for modern computers, what I don’t understand, it does EA not test this properly before slapping a price tag on it?
