Sims 2 on origin, can't increase the resolution?

I just installed sims 2 again, the complete edition. I got it when it was offered free for people who owned it on disc but don't think I played it before on Origins. Much handier with a single install than all those discs.

But the resolution is stuck on 800x600. It looks horrible. How can I fix this?

  • Thanks, resolution is fixed, game crashes during play though. Was just creating a batch of 8 university students and it crashed when I was almost done.

Yeah, that's a new thing with windows 10, I think. I have been saving often, like every 10 or 20 minutes. Also, I found that if I went to a community lot and then to another, the game would crash. So when I send a sim to a community lot, I save immediately before he/she leaves the home lot and then quit and start it up again immediately after. I also send my sims home and save then go out again to a different community lot. It seems to solve the issue of losing everything from crashing. For me all this saving and quitting is worth it just to keep playing.
