Sims 2 won't launch "Some needed files were corrupted during the installation"

Hi! I just bought the Sims 2 rerelease, but when I tried to open the game I received an error: "Some needed files were corrupted during the installation"

I have reinstalled the game multiple times and tried installing it on both my C and D drives. I also read that some cache files could be causing this issue, but the game still would not open even after deleting the cache files. Anyone else having this issue?

    This issue was resolved in today's patch:

    • Addressed some situations related to the error “Some needed files were corrupted during the installation”

    Yay! I had problems too, but downloading and installing it as an admin worked! It seems I'll have to log in as an admin everytime I want to play ts2, but that's okay.

    FIX: (Windows 11) You have to be logged in as the admin on your computer. You can only run and play the game on the admin account. I uninstalled and re-installed the EA app on the admin account and then downloaded Sims2 again and it worked. Keep in mind you can only have one instance of EA running, it won't launch if another user has it open (you have to exit, not just close the app). I have also heard from researching this that you may have to wait until your purchase is fully processed. If it's still pending on your bank account, you may have to wait for that to clear.

    Are you talking about the local admin account, or any account with admin privileges? I have both. Which one will give me the best chance of success?
