Buccaneer Bay

New world coming soon... or at least somewhere in the future.
Here's some basic information for now. I'll add more as I progress with the project.

Story:
Welcome to Buccaneer Bay, a tropical island with a long history as a pirate stronghold.
For centuries, buccaneers used its beaches for shady deals, buried treasure, and general debauchery. Today, the old pirate spirit is alive and well: the locals are charming, quick with a smile, and about as honest as their ancestors.
When a massive hurricane wiped out the nearby island of Crimson Cliffs, some of the survivors were evacuated here, and the island is now busy pretending everything is totally fine...

There will be returning families from Crimson Cliffs Inhabited, so in the meantime feel free to play it :)

You can track the project's progress on Instagram buccaneerbay_ts3

  • It’s great you’re still building worlds. Good luck with your new project. 😀

  • Buccaneer Bay rabbit holes

    Town Hall        40x40
The glorious center of island administration where every official, deputy assistant, coordinator, and honorary commissioner gathers. With far more titles than actual tasks, our hardworking staff always finds something to do – even if they have to invent it. Because here, everyone gets an important-sounding position, whether the job exists or not.

Saltbeard Defense Department (police & military)        30x14
Named after the legendary Saltbeard, the iron-fisted pirate who once kept the island's buccaneers in terrified order. Whether it's police work or island defense, we've go the uniforms and everything.
Saltbeard Defense Department – Living up to the legend... more or less.

Patchjob Medical & Research (hospital & science lab)        34x34
We patch you up... probably. Limited equipment, questionable hygiene, and slightly concerning virus research. We keep you alive just long enough to bill you...
And don't worry about the rumors – the monkeys are fine.

    School of Sharp Lessons        35x22
This is where children learn reading, writing, mathematics, and just enough local history to know that their ancestors were probably thieves. The curriculum is strict, the lessons are rarely gentle, and the failing is strongly discouraged. Here character is built, one bruise at a time.

Treasure Trade Center (office building)        22x28
Once the bustling hub where pirates fiercely traded, looted, and bragged about the finest treasures in the world. Today, the same halls are filled with pale coders in gray hoodies who proudly present AI-generated work as their own genius. Same place, different kind of piracy.
Treasure Trade Center – Where stolen booty became stolen credit.

    Market & Mug (grocery & diner)        30x20
Where pirates once loaded their ships with rum and salt pork, locals now shuffle around in flip-flops fighting over last cartoon of milk. Come for the slightly overpriced groceries, stay for lukewarm coffee and slightly expired pastries.

    Mariner's Manuscripts & Meals (bookstore & bistro)        28x40
Buccaneer Bay's finest establishment for both seafood and semicolons. Here pirates once divided their plunder, and now locals argue over St. John commas and the correct way to prepare shrimp.

The Gray Files Division (criminal hideout)        30x20
Official-looking headquarters for all things unofficial. Back in the golden age, pirates fearlessly chased gold and glory on the high seas. These days, the island's operators aren't nearly as picky – they'll take pretty much anything that isn't bolted to the floor. Whether you need a quiet favor, a creative arrangement, or just want to move some ”merchandise”, this is the place.

Cannon & Camera (film studio)        39x34
Here, the spirit of classic pirate cinema lives on – mostly through shaky camerawork, questionable special effects, and stories that sound suspiciously familiar. From low-budget swashbuckler epics to experimental ”deep” films shot on a single beach, our passionate crew always delivers... something.
Big dreams. Small budget. Even smaller shame.

    Cutlass Colosseum (stadium)        48x48
Long ago, this very arena witnessed brutal duels and dramatic plank-walkings as pirates settled their differences the old-fashioned way. Today, it hosts football matches where highly paid players flop to the ground in theatrical agony the moment an opponent breathes near them - especially when the referee is watching. Cutlass Colosseum – From bloodthirsty buccaneers to Simmy Award -worthy divers.
Same drama, much less actual courage.

Shanty Stage & Screen (theater)        22x28
Here rousing sea shanties and old pirate films still echo through the halls, celebrating the golden age of rum, robbery, and rebellion. Meanwhile, our bold contemporary art performances bravely fight to keep the few remaining audience members from disappearing into the night.

Anchor & Allure Day Spa        14x14
Let our professional staff scrub you with sea salt, massage you with oils of mysterious origin, and promise to make you look years younger – or at least less sunburned. We anchor your stress and allure your wallet.

    Galleon Grill (diner)        30x10
Come aboard for perfectly grilled lobster, charred octopus, and fresh catch of the day – served with a side of creaking wood and suspicious smells from the bilge.

Silver Spurs Stables (equestrian center)        40x40
Here you can learn the noble art of horsemanship – or at least try not to fall off while the horse decides it has better things to do. Our experienced instructors will teach you everything from basic riding to advanced skill of looking confident while secretly panicking.

Madame Marauder's Beach (gypsy wagon)        40x60
Enjoy the beach, go fishing, or step inside the wagon for cryptic tarot readings, dramatic crystal ball interpretations, and eerily specific predictions about your love life, lost treasures, and how soon you'll regret that last drink. Madame Marauder has seen it all – or at least she claims she has. Cross her palm with coin (or better yet, rum) and receive the future you deserve.

    Brineweed Apothecary        25x25
Step inside for mysterious tonics, glowing elixirs, questionable cure-alls, and oddities that may or may not have been salvaged from shipwrecks. Whether you need something for love, luck, revenge, or just to make your ex's hair fall out, Lady Brineweed has a bottle for that. All natural ingredients. Mostly safe. Results may vary – sometimes dramatically.

    Library of Lost Tales        30x14
Official repository of knowledge and forgotten dreams. Inside these dusty shelves you'll find ancient pirate logs, yellowed maps, half-finished novels, and an impressive collection of books that nobody has returned since 1983. The librarians know everything about the island's history but very little about how to keep the place quiet.

    Albert's Family Dough        14x14
This place continues a long-standing family tradition of turning flour, yeast, and stubbornness into fresh bread. Locals swear the secret recipes have been passed down for generations – though Albert insists the real secret is ”just not burning it this time.” From golden loaves to flaky pastries, everything is baked with love, a bit of nostalgia, and the mild panic when oven acts up.

    Rotten Renoit Nectary        35x25
This nectary once had a real, respectable name, but after the disastrous 1952 Renoit harvest turned into a stinking, rotten mess, no one has remembered it since. ”Rotten Renoit” stuck like mold. Today the place openly embraces its failure. The air smells of fermented disappointment, while the owners still claims it was ”just that one bad year.”

    Farmers Market        40x30
What began as rowdy exchanges of stolen goods and rum has evolved slightly more civilized affair – though the haggling remains just as aggressive. Come early for the best mangoes, pineapples, fresh fish, and the occasional argument over who gets the last bunch of bananas.

    Captain's Cove        22x50
This secluded villa was once the private hideaway of a pirate captain – his personal escape where he retreated from his crew to enjoy peace, quiet, and truly heroic quantities of rum. Today the place has been fully renovated and is wildly popular with honeymooners. Because nothing screams ”romantic getaway” quite like sleeping in the same rooms where a salty old pirate used to drink himself into oblivion.

    Pirate's Last Pint        30x20
This pub claims to serve ”the finest pints this side of the sea”, but most locals know the truth: it's where pirates, sailors, and hopeless romantics came to have their very last drink before disaster struck. The walls are decorated with neon signs, faded memories, and the faint smell of spilled rum and broken dreams. The bartender is friendly, the music is loud, and the patrons are one bad decision away from joining the ghosts of Buccaneer Bay.

    Final Plank Funeral Home        40x20
This is where many locals finally come to rest after one too many rums, a bad swim, or another ”totally safe” riding lesson. Originally unlucky pirates were sent to walk the plank, but today the funeral home provides slightly more dignified departures – though the quality still depends heavily on how much the family paid. The undertakers are surprisingly cheerful, probably because in this town, business is reliably consistent.

    Buccaneer Burn Unit        20x30
Buccaneer Bay's official fire station where volunteers respond to emergencies... eventually. The crew consists mostly of retired pirates, beach bums, and guys who just really like riding the old red truck with the siren on. Thanks to frequent rum-related incidents, faulty wiring in beach shacks, and the occasional ”barbecue gone tropical”, they stay moderately busy. Buccaneer Burn Unit – We'll get there before it's completely ash...

    Rumrunner's Beach        40x60
Centuries ago, this very shore was a wild pirate hangout where buccaneers grilled stolen meat over open fire and rum flowed freely into the night. Today it's much calmer place – perfect for soaking up the sun, building sandcastles, splashing in the warm, gentle waves, and other boring stuff. From rum-soaked debauchery to sunscreen, screaming children, and questionable life choices.

    Rusty Anchor Harbor        40x60
Once a bustling pirate haven filled with rowdy buccaneers, shady traders, and ships constantly coming and going, Rusty Anchor Harbor was the beating heart of Buccaneer Bay. These days it's... significantly less lively. The dock are quiet, the ships are few, and the most action usually comes from seagulls fighting over yesterday's leftovers. The rust is winning, the paint is peeling, and the whole place carries the gentle aroma of decay and faded glory.

    Pegleg's Potluck        10x22
Buccaneer Bay's most... ”adventurous” dining experience. This restaurant serves a rotating menu of whatever the cook felt like throwing together that day – true potluck style, but with extra rum and zero consistency. One day you might get surprisingly decent seafood, the next day something that definitely walked the plank a week ago. Locals say it's ”always a surprise”. Whether that's a pleasant surprise or a trip to the bathroom later is entirely up to chance. Come hungry, leave... experienced.

    Chlorine Club        23x22
Buccaneer Bay's beloved public swimming pool – famous for its eye-watering chlorine levels that could probably disinfect a sunken pirate ship. The water has that signature milky green tint, the tiles are permanently stained, and the smell hits you like a chemical hurricane. Kids pee in it, adults pretend they don't notice, and the lifeguards are usually too busy scrolling their phones to save anyone. Still, it remains a popular spot in town for ”family fun” and mild chemical burns.

    Salty Sweat Society        28x14
A sweaty temple of broken dreams and half-hearted New Year's resolutions. Here, former pirates, beach bums, and rum enthusiasts gather to lift rusty weights, sweat out last night's regrets, and pretend they're one workout away from getting their life together. The equipment is old, the air is thick with salt and desperation, and the motivational posters are peeling faster than the members' motivation. Welcome to the place where abs are imaginary, but the excuses are very, very real.

    Sunken Dreams Disposal        25x20
Official landfill and the town's most optimistic thrift store. Locals love to say that one man's trash is another man's treasure – and here you can actually find both. Among the mountains of rust, broken furniture, and discarded pirate memorabilia, patient scavengers occasionally discover something that only needs ”a little bit of restoration” (read: several weekends, a welding machine, and pure denial). It's the place where broken dreams go to die... and where new ones are born out of duct tape and stubbornness.

    One-Eyed Outlet        16x14
Premier consignment store – a glorious pile of other people's mistakes, questionable fashion choices, and ”gently used” treasures. Run by a cranky ex-pirate with one glass eye and zero patience, the shop is stuffed with everything from suspiciously stained wedding dresses to pirate boots that still smell like regret and seawater. You never know what you'll find: a slightly cursed necklace, a shirt with a bullet hole ”for ventilation”, or that one expensive jacket someone's ex left behind after a dramatic exit. If you dig long enough, you'll always find something you didn't know you needed... Or something that'll haunt you.

    Bitter Bait Bank        30x40
The water looks promising, the view is beautiful, and the bait is always fresh. Unfortunately, the fish have clearly read the reviews. Generations of frustrated anglers have left behind broken rods, empty coolers, and their last remaining shreds of hope. Welcome to Bitter Bait Bank – where dreams go to die and fish go to laugh at you.

Black Pearl Beauty & Ink        16x14
Buccaneer Bay's go-to destination for haircuts, highlights, and regrettable life decisions under one roof. This charmingly rundown salon offers everything from beachy waves to pirate-themed tattoos, often in the same appointment. The stylists are skilled, the tattoo artists are... enthusiastic, and the air always carries a suspicious mix of peroxide, rum, and poor choices. Come in wanting a simple trim. Leave with a new haircut, a fresh anchor tattoo, and the growing feeling that you might have made a terrible mistake.

    Ye Olde Olive        16x14
Town's oldest pizzeria – and it definitely tastes like it. This gloriously outdated establishment serves ”authentic” pirate-era pizzas with generous toppings of ancient olives that have been around since buccaneer days. The dough is always tough, the cheese has a mind of its own, and the sauce is mysteriously sharp... and the oven has a personality problem. Still, it remains strangely popular among locals who enjoy living dangerously. Come for the nostalgia. Stay because the pizza is so heavy it anchors you to the chair. Leave wondering if scurvy might actually be preferable.
