Also it is very confusing seeing who is down for mentoring and who is down for learning some of the learners know more about editing than the mentors. Some of the learners know way more editing than I do.
I would like to learn a few of the mentors tricks but I know I don't really qualify for a learner.To be honest it should be fair to those that really do know little about editing and competing as that is the reason this was created in the first place, by someone (before Jenna picked it up) that wanted to help those too intimidate to compete in competitions with some of the better competitors, learn not just editing but modelling on a whole.
I understand what you are saying Kristy! However I remember what it was like for me when I first started photo editing. The kind of edits I wanted to do just didn't have tuts available. It upset me, and I had to work really hard to figure out how to do a lot of things on my own. Considering that this comp isn't based on the most talented, but on the most improved, I don't see the harm in some of the more talented modelers entering as learners provided that they honestly feel they can be taught something they don't know. I know that there are a few people here that have asked for my menotorship and I am honored to be able to help them if I can. I know Im not an amazing editor. But if someone feels I have something I can teach them, then I won't turn them away just because they are "talented" already.
