You know, maybe this was intended to be funny, but it isn't. Well, it IS, but more in that it is so completely ridiculous.
I buy Sims 3 Store stuff. A LOT of it. I work hard for my money (as a college mathematics professor, by the way) and I feel I should be able to spend it on anything I want (so long as it isn't illegal).
I don't feel any need to defend myself to anyone else about how I spend MY money, but I just found this comment ironic in view of what I do for a living.
At list virtual goods aren't as bad for you as drugs or alcohol. :)
By the way, I generally don't buy $160 worth of points at one time, either, but two days ago I got that amount of points on sale for $123. That was too good a deal to pass up. Do the math. (Sorry, had to. )
Agreed! Sometimes, just because you can afford something doesn't mean you have no life. Heck...where would the money come from if you had no life? Really, I've seen such great simmers spend their money for many others out there who can't purchase stuff like these or have the luxury to and if even though they are pixels, it does in fact create a change in one's view towards a community and the gameplay.
I'm not going to lie, Sims 3 would be very boring if I have nothing to share it with, my lots, my sims, anything! The gifts I provide online is what keeps me playing and also the community that comes together. To hell with spending $123 for 16,000 Simpoints! I will be glad that it is money spent well! and I'll live with it!
