I checked some of the people who posted rude comments and to my surprise, there were wishlists with plenty of items on them..... and then to go and make comments about people who buy the larger simpoint bundles when they are the ones gifting.
Go figure. :P
You know what? I'll most likely never buy the $160 bundle, even when it's offered at the bargain price of $123 (and that's saying a lot because I love a good sale/bargain  ) but I'm glad it's there for people who want it. I tend to buy in smaller amounts here and there when I can, but that's also easier for me to do. I live in CA and use paypal so I'm never charged tax on my simpoint purchases, so multiple smaller transactions amount to the same as one larger one (providing there's no sale on larger bundles of simpoints of course). For those who do pay taxes on each transaction however, it makes complete sense to make as few purchases as possible. So if you know you're going to spend a certain amount of money in the store, either on yourself or on gifts for others or a combination of the two, the largest bundle possible is obviously the way to go.
I imagine that the OP was just trying to express his/her incredulity at anyone spending $160 on simpoints all at once was common enough to offer a bundle at that price, but obviously that's the case. Calling it silly to buy more stuff for your game is quite frankly, silly coming from someone who spends money to play the game in the first place. Doesn't matter how little you spend vs. how much someone else does. We're all here because we've invested time and money into the Sims because it's something we enjoy.
