karritz I doubt the Mac version would work in Linux, but more importantly, the issue is the Sims 3 launcher, not the EA App itself. It doesn't matter what the App is doing as long as it allows the launcher to open. We know this because the launcher will install Store content without the App at all in disc and Steam installs.
I know there are several subreddits dedicated to getting EA games to run in Linux, and most of them agree that the EA App is usable in most Linux distros with a little extra work, and that most games are as well. But a large part of the reason is that the Linux community has made some extremely helpful tools for running Windows games and related apps, not because the apps are anywhere near compatible on their own.

@puzzleaddict I thought it was a vague possibility. I hope a solution is found for this problem.
