Excuse the wall of text, but this is me trying to respond to the FOUR new pages that I see have popped up since yesterday. Gosh, this thread is going FAST! :shock:
@Knight
Nice slideshow, it feels very thorough and gives a good view of everything on the lot. I especially like your picture of the hobby deck, it's taken at a great angle.
@Darkside
I like a lot of the changes you have made to your WIP, but I'm a little confused as to why you would put (what looks like) carpet in one of your bathrooms. I also liked the green outdoor tiles better than these blue-gray ones, as they seem too cold and bright in comparison.
@Sherry
I think you did an amazing job on the waterfall and the cave, they really make me go "WOW!" As for the rest of the lot, I'm not really digging the color choices for the picnic table and playground. Right now it feels like what a jungle theme park would look like, which is great if that's what you were going for. But if you want a more 'authentic' jungle experience I would suggest going with an aged/weathered wood pattern with a straw or leaf thatched roof for the playground.
In response to commenting...
I've been trying really hard to be more active here and provide constructive criticism to everyone that posts. But sometimes I get a bit overwhelmed by all the responses and slip into my lazy/lurky mode. If I do write good job or something equally simple it's because I really do mean it, and just don't have the time or energy to nitpick everything. I also want to add that I very rarely download lots, and that's mostly because I'm just a picky person and like things done my way. Honestly, I have no idea how Merry and Magic have the time to comment and keep up with all the walkthroughs they do! So, I just want to say another big thank you to them and everyone else that has been helpful and kept this thread going! :D
@Kitty
I really like the colors you have chosen for this, they look very pretty and natural together. Your roof looks much better too. I guess the only thing I would change is the entrance. Because of it's grand size and shape, the door ends up looking kinda puny. I wish we had the two story doors from TS2, because that would be perfect for this. Instead, I would suggest picking a larger door (preferably with glass or some other kind of detail, as it does a good job of drawing your eye in) and pairing it with some windows on the top floor. A nice overhead light would also do a good job of stopping the eye and bringing the focus down on the door and garden.
@XOX1
I think your lots are great and you do a really awesome job of capturing that bright, fun essence that the Berry Sweet Town is all about.
Monet Manor looks nice, but I'd love to see a little more variety with the wall and floor coverings.
I love the use of space in the living room of Minima Maxima, but I think the other two rooms could use a change. The way they're set up now emphasizes the length of the room and makes it feel somewhat narrow. I would suggest different furniture placement or maybe incorporating a pattern that visually widens the space.
@The_Clay
Cool tutorial, it looks very easy to follow!
@LilSapphire
Your WIP is turning out nicely, but the Pooh pattern is a bit overwhelming for my taste. I also agree with Merry that the aqua rooms could use an extra color or two to tone done the intensity.
Oh and if I've missed anyone, please let me know!
*EDIT: Never mind, they work now! :D
