Helpful tips to follow after you purchase an item
Anytime you purchase something or receive a gift, especially a set, it is a good idea to check the spreadsheet. The spreadsheet includes many tabs that include information about which sets/compilations an item/set is a part of. On the "Current Rotation" tab, scroll far far to the right after all the time zones for the information. The Sort by Item/Set tab has less columns so you can see the Part of Set(s), or Compilation(s) column much easier.
You can also check out which sets an item is a part from the Sims 3 website. At the bottom of the items product page, if the item is included in a set, you will see a picture of the set. If there are blue arrows to the right or left of the photo, clicking the arrow will scroll to photos of additional sets. You can click on the photo and go to that set's page to see your CYS or hopefully a green download button. As well, you can navigate to the set's product page, click on the photo of one of the items and open its product page. Then follow the technique I just described check to see which sets may overlap. Hope that makes sense. :) (I know someone posted photos of this technique in one of the past threads. Please post if you know the link.)

- Q. Is the store closing soon?
A. While it was a while ago, on Feb. 6, 2015, SimGuruBChick posted in the previous DD thread"SimGuruBChick;13279166" wrote:
Hey all, we have no plans to close The Sims 3 Store in the immediate future. As you already know, we will not be making any new content but the Store will remain open for a while yet. And, if we do decide to close the Store, we will provide lots of notice. - Q. Are there threads that list all the store content
A. The most popular are:- Valgon57's thread 'Store Mega List for Extra Quick Redownloading
- Ciane's thread of How to Install Store Items
- 2Mahawk's Easy-to-Miss Items Checklist listing items not included in sets
- Valgon57's thread 'Store Mega List for Extra Quick Redownloading
- Q. Where can I view the exclusive items given out by the Make Me an Offer Machine
A. SimsVIP has photos of the items on her Blog page Sims 3 Store: Introducing “Make Me an Offer” - Q. I can't access the Make Me An Offer Machine. I get the 'Be Right Back' message (or some other error message).
A. As posted by Odonata68, if you post in this thread at EA, you may get your account reset so It'll work again. answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-3/Sims-3-Store-Specials-Login-and-Make-Me-An-Offer-Broken/td-p/5690203/highlight/false or check out this thread forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/902920/store-make-me-an-offer/p2 - Q. Where can I find information on unlocking stencils or patterns on store content?
A. Joolster has hosted a thread Did You Know You Could be Missing EP/Store Content Stencils? Also, please see our expanded post on this topic. - Q. What is the link for the Daily Deal Stalkers Birthday Calendar?
A. The calendar can be found here. - Q. I've read elsewhere about people getting birthday presents from the store. How does that work?

The birthday thing was, I think, something EA did way back in the past and, as far as I know, stopped doing years ago! :(
However! There is a birthday gifting thread where generous Simmers celebrate birthdays - it may not involve gifts but it's another great place to share the love: http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/485125/birthday-directory-now-celebrating-majestyk-ruthless-kk/p1 - Q. What does OE stand for?
A. Offline Existence - Our own @silencedsong coined the phrase in one of the earlier DD threads. She preferred OE to RL since her time playing the Sims and being on the forum is Real Life too just her time spent Online. - Q. I got the green download button on a set (or compilation). All the items downloaded and show up in my game but not all the content shows up as owned on the store page for the set (or compilation).
A. Usually logging out of the website and logging back in will correct the problem.
