I have a Dell, Windows 8 platform and it's pretty good but when it comes to the Sims 3 it's so laggy. Maybe it's just my computer but my game, even with no cc, is constantly crashing and freezing. I went through the crashing checklist and deleted all my cc, created a backup folder and deleted the cache etc. but it didn't help at all. At this point, I've got nothing to lose. I LOVE some of the cc made online, especially Anubis Under the Sun is gorgeous and actually some are even better than store game content! The Sims I make without cc just aren't as good as the ones with it. If I were to download cc, would it mess up my game even more? Thanks in advance sorry if this is the wrong category.

Thats what I gennerally do as once I got loads of cc content and my game froze every 5 sim minutes X_X. But if u stick to the odd few bits it works fine on normal computers.

I have a gaming computer it is an Acer Predator and it can play Sims 3 with no problems. Only issue I have is the new world which I find glitchy as heck and I know my computer can more than handle it.

It can if you run it at settings the computer can handle. Depending on what settings you have can also make the CC look bad and glitchy

hey Gabby1999 - yes CC can slow down your game - it can slow down CAS loading/selecting and if you have lots of CC in your game it can slow down game play as well

so it sounds like you have done many of the right tests since you reviewed the crash check list can you post specs so i can see if there is anything i can suggest re hardware

to post hit windows key + R enter dxdiag run report hit save all info and notepad doc will open copy/paste the whole long report here, thanks!

I haven't had a performance decrease with my CC. The only slow part is CAS, which was already slow to load for me since I have most of the Store content. Doesn't cause me any issues in game.

For me the lag is caused by the actual game and routing issues in town, but I rarely have any. I have a custom gaming PC though so I don't know how to compare with you without your specs honestly :(

I took out all of my custom content awhile ago. My game runs slow sometimes and weird things happen without cc installed. Its not the custom content, its things that still need to be fixed. I think some of the content here is in conflict with each other and take up a lot of memory especially the worlds, I have all of them except Lunar Lakes. I re downloaded my cc because there are things I can't get here, that make my world complete. One of my favorites sites is LunaSims, I have had no problems with LunaSims cc at all.

I had an alienware laptop when Sims 2 came out and it really wasn't worth the money, they're very expensive, run very hot and when the warranty runs out so does the support! mine ended up at the dump.

I don't find CC causes lagging but some of the older mods that haven't been updated recently seem to cause problems. Could it be other stuff that's running in the background? I say that because every now and then my PC revs up like it's about to take off and when I check it's some other software updating itself online.

Thanks guys, I deleted my mods and now I'm just sticking to a few custom content items.
