EA you are violating your own terms
If you have not updated your game past 1.67 don't buy anymore stuff packs or sets for Sims 3. EA is forcing update if you do. I bought 2 stuff packs and was not able to install them unless I updated...

I can't say I was overjoyed at the opportunity to spend that under $100, I would of course have preferred to spend nothing additional at all and had actually let two other Steam sales go by before deciding that Origin had become annoying enough to make that move. It basically became a series of questions I kept asking myself about how annoying 1.69 really was and if/how I still intended to be playing this game for at least another five years or so. But without ever having had the discs myself, acquiring them so much later was for me the least attractive alternative.
