Help, I've been away a while...

I just recently started "Simming" again after a somewhat lengthy break. I guess it's like riding a bike... It all comes back.

Anyway, what I do need some help with (more like advice) is what "fixes" do I still need to install? Are any outdated? Any long-time issues been officially fixed? I'm pretty sure Overwatch is still necessary, but what else is recommended? I see vehicles still accumulate!

Links (including Overwatch) would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

  • Overwatch and Errortrap will (mostly) clean up your game on their own. DebugEnabler makes available the built-in debug commands that EA left in the game, which can be situationally useful. MasterController gives you most of the commands you might want to use on sims you're not playing, from picking their careers to tweaking them in CAS, to a hard reset of one that seems broken. It also has several accompanying mods for extra options. If you want to play with more than eight sims in a household, PortraitPanel is a must, and if you want to move sims where the end result will be a household that the base game doesn't allow (more than 8 sims, a teenager without parents), or you just want some extra flexibility over options, Mover can be helpful. There's another nraas mod that can't be discussed here, but a lot of people use it.

All of the mods are hosted at nraas.wikispaces.com and listed in a column on the far left. They're all compatible with patches 1.67 and 1.69, and the site has links to older versions for simmers who haven't patched to the highest level.

If you want a specific function available in your game, ask on the boards if anyone knows a good mod for that, and people will respond. Just be sure to mention which mods you already have, as some are not compatible with others.
  • Just to toss this in here, the mod that can help prevent the vehicles from accumulating in the first place is NRaas Traffic.

If you are looking for fixes from the EA arena, you would have to look back pretty far. The last game file changing patch we got was in Jan 2014. :)
  • Thanks everyone. I know when I was playing heavily a couple of years back, the only mod I had installed was Overwatch. Will it be an issue to install that & Errortrap together?

No issues. There is never a problem using multiple NRaas mods at the same time, they are designed to work together.

    Thanks Igazor.

By the way, the new laptop is working out well.

    Glad to hear it. :)
  • I've had to install awsomemod to fix school overcrowding and routing fails by setting the config to activate the automated school assignment override to get that issue fixed.I also use almost all of the NRaas Mod collection which is 113 NRaas Mod files in all.I went with a no social workers Mod to remove on cause if save corruption as I had three saves corrupted when social workers took children away in thise saves.
