how do i build/buy on an occupied residential lot??

want to know how to be able to build/buy on a residential lot that isnt my active household but theres sims living there.

Basically i moved in some Vampires into an empty house but i noticed they had no coffins , would like to alter there house as well.

I mnotice in edit town/world you can build/buy on empty residential lots or community lots but not houses with people living in them.

I have master controller but couldnt find it in there.

  • Hi :)

First- Save your game. In case something goes wrong. :)

In Edit Town, Evict the family- they'll go to the clipboard to the left... Go into the lot to build. The houses is now empty so you can build.

After building, back in neighborhood view, click on the family on the left of your screen and then place them in the house just like when you started. :)

  • or, at the loading screen before loading your saved game type in the cheat "Testingcheatsenabled on" or "true"
then load that saved game, once loaded and playing what ever family you are playing, but not the one you want to add to, find the lot and hit Shift and left click on the lot and choose either "buy" or "Build" on that lot, then you can do what ever you need to do.
