I wanna put more stuff in my town but....

I got a bunch of new EPs with all new lots and stuff that I wanted to add to my current save. I tried to edit town and add the lots but everywhere I try to plot the lot square, it won't turn green. It looks like there would be plenty of space for new stuff so don't know what I am doing wrong? Is elevation and uneven terrain that big of an issue?

Usually there is something on the lot. But you can't just bulldoze the lot just in case it is empty and the lot vanishes. So the thing to do is go into build mode on the lot and place something on it - I usually grab a small rock. Then go into Edit Town and bulldoze the lot. It should work then.

I've had issues with placing rabbit holes in some towns and on some lots. Parts of the lot are already occupied. I've not worked out how to solve that one yet, but I find MoveObjects On will often let you place the rabbit hole. Make sure the RH is back at least one square from the boundary of the lot or sims may not be able to get into it.

I use a mod to stop lots being placed when starting a new game in a new world. I was playing in Sunset Valley and it became obvious the festival lot hadn't replaced Central Park. If I'd tried to replace it manually at the start of the game I wouldn't have had a problem, but I decided to do it when it was changing from Winter to Spring and it wasn't possible to do any thing with it. I even ended up deleting the actual lot and couldn't put it back again so I shut down without saving and went to an earlier save where the season wasn't changing and it worked perfectly. The replacement Festival Lots for worlds released before Seasons are all found in the library under Seasons. Others you will need to make yourself, or download from the Exchange. Sim Gurus made 'official' festival lots in their own time back when the game was still being developed.

    Happy Simming
  • Did you mean that you were trying to place the new lots on empty lots already present in the world, or were you trying to add new lots to the town with the in-game World Editor?

I think @MKSizzle was using in-game world editor. If the square indicating new lot didn’t turn green. This should be the new lot too close to existing one, even not overlapping. Furthermore, new lot cannot be added on non-routable terrain.
    Hope this help.
