If This Isn't A Glitch, Then I Don't Know What To Think (Mystery Solved)
When I began playing this game it was my understanding if you removed a rabbit hole building from the world then the career associated with that building would also be removed. Well, In my world I removed the Criminal warehouse because it was no longer needed, I had decided to create my own brand of crooks. Besides, with the criminal element removed I could save a few simoleons by not having to buy burglar alarms or build garages to keep my Sims cars and bikes safe.
WRONG!
My Sim was asleep, tired from a hard day at work, when all of a sudden the burglar alarm on her home sounded. I thought my game had glitched because I had long deleted the Criminal Warehouse, just forgot to sell back the alarm. But, there he was as plain as day, a burglar attempting to rob my Sims home, he was doing the 'alarm's too loud' dance in the front yard. The police were dispatched, she came, beat him in a fight and then arrested him. All the while I'm sitting there scratching my head as to whether I misunderstood what the instruction manual meant.
NPCs will appear in town from time to time and its not uncommon to find a burglar sitting in the park reading the newspaper. But do they, can they, actively keep their careers?
I know for most rabbit hole careers this would be true, remove the building remove the career. But the Criminal career isn't like the other rabbit holes in the fact they have NPCs attached to them much like Law Enforcement has NPC cops. So, does this mean our worlds can never truly be crime free? Or was this a malfunction of my game? What do you think?
