Could you build a copy of it, only as a house? I've done that before with apartments I especially liked. I've also built a few apartment buildings (the whole building, not with a pre-made shell), and once copied an apartment from a high rise into an apartment building I made, with stairs instead of an elevator, because the elevator in my sim's building kept glitching.

Can you just add another floor on top?
Or if you're in cheat mode anyway, go down a floor and take out the level skip marker.

It's been a while since I played in Bridgeport, but ISTR that the "skyscrapers" had a couple of empty floors in between the lobby and the apartments.

Go downwards? Build a basement under the lobby, it wont technically be a part of the apartment but your sims will still have use of it.

Interesting, I hadn't even thought about that one. Thank you very much for this idea. :) I believe I will move her witches' lair down in the basement along with a good portion of all that other stuff as well.

Actually, I believe if the basement has no public room marker then it will be part of the apartment in the sense that it becomes part of your sims' living area and not open to others who haven't been lot-greeted. A public room marker would make it a common area in the building such as a laundry or rec room might be. I once made the mistake (back when I admittedly had no idea what I was doing in the Big City) of removing all public room markers from a highrise and the sims ended up having to pay property taxes on essentially the entire building (SP Money mod and its Unified Billing option). They went bankrupt shortly after when I wasn't watching -- the household living there wasn't one of "mine." But to be fair that household was living paycheck to paycheck anyway so they weren't really very far off from being in trouble financially.

What's tricky is that then the route they will need to take from their apartment door upstairs to the basement and back is not part of their living space, so they will essentially be leaving the lot and entering it again every time they do that. No big deal ordinarily, but it can make entertaining guests and holding parties there more than awkward as the scenarios become kind of disjointed, curfew warnings in late night hours if children or teens are involved make no sense, Service Sims might be confused where they are supposed to stay "on the lot," little things like that. But perhaps totally worth it if it solves the space issues.

@LaBlue0314 -I've been having the same issue you had with one of the families I play in Evermore Falls.I have the Jankowskys and the Ivanovitch family both living there and it's the Ivanovitch family that started having the issue if outgrowing their starter home which means they'll be moving to their other property soon and making their current home a second home.It's also where their city hall had a major problem and had to get rebuilt.

Sometimes I have sims with too many skill and/or recreational items to fit on their lot. Then I buy a second, vacant lot, as close to where they live as possible. Then I put things they don't use as much there.

My current sims live on a 64x64 lot, about half of which is taken with the horses' stable and pasture. I was thinking of buying the vacant house next door to them when my sim masters the science skill and gets the group science project, because I would have to move, or maybe even remove their garden to fit it on their lot. I wasn't sure I wanted to do that, but when they married, they were given a snowboard half pipe as a gift. That decided the issue for me, and I had them buy the house next door.

It's a small house on a large lot, so there's plenty of room and with the house there, they won't have to go home to use the bathroom or eat when they're doing things over there. I may even put more jump obstacles for my sim to train her horses with. There isn't room on their home lot for all the different kinds, and the horse ranch doesn't have them all either.

I've got the Ivanovitch family moved to their second lot which is larger than the starter home though the house is going to be smaller for a while since they had bought it with not house and had to build one on the lot.

I think relocating might be in order.Sometimes houses we love just don't cut it, even in real life.XD
