Is there any way to organize the launcher??

I'm trying to uninstall a CC set I never use. Is there any way to sort or organize the launcher to group them all together instead of having to go line by line and pick out the stuff I don't want? I have EVERYTHING from the Store, all EPs, all SPs, and lots of CC. There has to be an easier way.

  • No, but there is a way to get the launcher to only show CC items go into your electronic arts --- The Sims 3 --- DCCACHE folder, copy and paste everything that ends in .ebc those are store items.create a folder on the desktop and paste those into the folder for safe keeping. So now the only thing in your dccache folder is .dbc files, which is cc.Open the launcher and scroll through until you can find the set you want.

Edit: I meant cut and paste.

I think you meant to say cut and paste there (or drag out and drop), not copy. Otherwise the original ebc files and thus the store content would still be in DCCache and cluttering up the Launcher tabs. :)

Ooooh I may have to try that. I have so much stuff I can't even get into the launcher to uninstall anything, because it just crashes from it all when I click on uninstall. Thank you!

Thank you! I don't know why there isn't some kind of sort function on the launcher. :(

  • @luvalphvle Crinrict's post that @GraceyManor linked includes a technique—Method by Mell—to examine .dbc files one at a time. (Scroll down to the bottom of the post.) Since the cc set you don't want was installed all at once, it will all be in the same .dbc bundle, so you can be sure you've uninstalled every item in the set just by sorting through that one bundle.

@KevinL5275 This might help you too, since the launcher is less likely to crash when you're examining just one .dbc file instead of everything you've ever installed. At the very least, you'll be able to identify the corrupt bundle(s), since the launcher might still crash when you're viewing a bad .dbc file, and you can get rid of that .dbc without having to reinstall all your cc from scratch. Hopefully though, this will allow you to uninstall the bad cc without losing any other content.
