Mod to prevent automatic placement of community lots?

I would like to start a new save using Bridgeport and Isla Paradiso, and I seem to remember that I saw a mod that prevents Ambitions, Showtime and Supernatural lots from being automatically placed at the start of a save. This would be very useful to me because I'm not going to need any of these lots for what I have in mind. But I can't remember where I saw this mod, if it exists at all! I've just clicked through about 35 pages of mods on Mod The Sims, and then I felt that I may have wasted more time on looking for this mod than I would actually save by using it!

Does anyone know where I can find this mod, if it wasn't just a figment of my imagination?

  • I found this:

  • There's also this one, that places the lots correctly and in better locations than EA default:

Thank you, @KevinL5275 ! Can you believe, before posting this thread I actually found that Reddit post via Google, and somehow didn't notice the mediafire link in it - I thought it was a deleted post, and went on searching!
  • Wouldn’t it be easier to disable Supernatural, Ambitions and Showtime on the launcher, then start the neighborhood, save, leave and enable those again?

Or your version of the game doesn’t use the launcher?
  • @Keiomestre , thanks for the idea, but to me just adding one additional package file to the mods folder is easier than loading the same save twice! Besides, I chose not to upgrade to the version of the game that lets you disable EPs in the launcher. But your idea is excellent for people who don't want to use mods.

That would be like cutting off your arm to remove a wart on your finger. I don't like to use all the automatically placed lots and those I do use I don't often like where they get placed but I definitely like all the content of the EPs.
  • My life changed when I discovered that mod. Now I don't cringe and have a long session trying to justify the need to start a fresh save by starting a new game. It also frees up lots that I place things into that I actually want to use.

I wouldn't consider disabling or uninstalling any expansion pack to prevent the lots being placed. I can't just disable them as I'm still on patch 1.67 and I am absolutely not going to let 1.69 install. I'd quit playing Sims 3 before having to use that patch.

My apologies for my earlier comment. I didn't read the bolded part. What you suggested wouldn't be so bad as I thought. Since I am using 1.67 and don't use the launcher I didn't realize you could do that.
