My sim can't go steady

Saw your question in a topic that got closed (right when I was typing a suggestion) and since as a new member you can't start your own topic, I took the liberty to 'respond' in a new one.

I need help. My sims relationship bar is full but she can’t go steady. What is this from. And it’s not just this one sim the other one can’t either.

Is it possible one of the sims already is in a relationship?
