My sim keeps getting stuck!

Every time she gets home, she he's stuck on the sidewalk. Every time, I have to reset her. The last time, there was a baby in her hands so I ended up resetting the lot just in case. Why does this keep happening? And it's just with her. What gives?

  • In the same or almost exactly the same spot? Sounds like a flaw with the lot, the world lot in front of it, or the junction between the world lot and the residential property.
  • It depends on where the flaw is, if that's actually the cause. If it's on the world lot or its junction with the residential, then yes moving to a new lot would be a good thing to try. You could move or copy the house to a new location. But if it's on the residential lot, then I would think it would have to be replaced with a new one.

Sorry, I know that's not very definitive but I would have to see where the sim is getting stuck exactly, know where the boundaries of the lot are, and even then it would still be a (somewhat) educated guess as to what to do. Maybe others here have some better suggestions.
  • Is it an EA world or a custom world and which one?
Sometimes moving the mailbox to a different location can fix the problem as the mailbox determines the front of lot and they'll be more likely to avoid the trouble spot and a screen shot of the spot where it's happening would help.
  • @ScottDemon It is just the original Sunset Valley. How do you move the mailbox? Can you do it in build mode? I'm not in game right now so I can't look right now. I will try that!

Yes you can move the mailbox in buy mode. But since it's SV where is this house is it pre-made house or was it one you downloaded from somewhere? I'm not aware of any problems with sidewalks in SV but I do know about a few lot tears that are barely visible and can hang sims up.
  • It is the legacy lot..15 Summer Hill Court. built from the ground up. I'll move the mailbox anyway to see if that helps.
  • 15 Summer Hill that lot is almost totally flat shouldn't be problems with it. Make sure the mailbox is at least 3 tiles away from the sidewalk and any other lot edge.
Only other thing I can think of is that something went funky when the world loaded the first time you started to play in it.
Also if you have Pets installed and removed the horse stables that the game places there automatically it leaves invisible spawners behind those could cause routing problems.

This only applies if you had the stables:
Go into buy mode ctl+shift+c type testingcheatsenabled true hit enter then ctl+shift+c buydebug on and click on the question mark and see if you can spot any spawners and delete them after those are gone ctl+shift+c buydebug off and then ctl+shift+c testingcheatsenabled false.
  • I don't have Pets anyway. :) This isn't the only sim who has gotten stuck there either. I've had to copy the house, bulldoze it and place the house back on the lot again numerous times. It still happens. Like I said, I'll try the mailbox thing.
