Question about Traveler

So, I did it, I downloaded Traveler  But before I go wild I have a question. When a sim travels, the worlds they travel to show up in the save file. Like, my current sim lives in IP, she went to university and traveled to Egypt and China:

She will go to France in the future and with Traveler I'd like her to visit her family in Monte Vista and Dragon Valley and a friend in Bridgeport. Obviously, when she does that, all those worlds will be added to the save file.

My question: is there a limit to that? Meaning, will the save get less stable/more likely to get corrupted when more worlds are added to it? Or doesn't that matter at all, could you make them travel to each and every world there is without it being a problem?

(if it does matter I'll just make a selection where to travel to)

  • I haven't heard of any limit. @igazor has quite a few worlds in his saves, but I don't know how many. In my current game I have all the WA worlds, OL, Uni, and 4 homeworlds. That should add up to 9. So far, so good.

One issue might be the folder size of the saves, how many saves you keep, and how much room you have on your hard drive.
  • Thanks. I don't expect it to become much more than 9 so I think I'll be fine then :) And I'll just make sure to move my saves to a seperate folder a bit more often than I'm doing now, just to make sure.
  • There is no hard limit. I have 16 connected Traveler worlds, other players have more. I wouldn't want to try 80 or anything like that though (not sure there are 80 worlds out there I would even want to play within the same ongoing game, but still...), there must be a point where things become fragile after a while. :)

Lol, I doubt I will exceed 16. Thanks, looking forward to this!

Like so many other things, that just kind of happened by itself over time. Let's see, 5 really being used by "my" sims homeworlds; the 3 WA worlds, Uni, and Oasis; 2 worlds where "my" sims used to live but still have friends/very extended relatives I don't want to lose, and 4 recurring vacation destinations. I've dropped a couple over the years but that's difficult for me to do when someone, somewhere still remembers great great uncle whoever and their now grown children or that kid they met on vacation who should be a grandparent themselves by now, etc. left behind in those worlds. I hate the thought of losing sims entirely even if they will likely never really see each other again. :/

Your save is much much older than the saves I usually play of course. That might change when I start using this mod though. So it’s good to know the game can cope visiting multiple worlds. My next heir by the way will be a stray again, it’s going to be fun to be able to really make him stray through several worlds!
