Questions regarding clothing in Uni...

I own the Sims 3 and various packs. Right now I'm loading University Life because there are several outfits that I like for my Sim. My question is: Is it possible to separate those outfits from Uni and make them base game compatible? I hate having to keep loading Uni just for 3 outfits. This would be for my personal use and my game, not for distribution. Is it possible to do that, and if so how do I do that? I wasn't sure if this was where the post should go, so my apologies if it's in the wrong place.

  • There is a way and people have done so already on other sites. Even though you don't plan on sharing, it would be against rules to tell you how here on the official forums.
  • Well, thanks for the answer. I had no idea that it was verboten to talk about that here. Especially since I own the game.
  • I could be mistaken on this, but I don't think merely raising the question is forbidden for those who do not know. But there would be no way to encrypt any pack-specific content in such a way that only owners of the pack can use it, whether that content be CAS parts, plants, careers, skills, or bowling alleys. And there would be no way to legally remove the tie-ins from the parts by going through the game files, that would be the equivalent of hacking the game (even if it's one that you own the rights to play).

But there is so much CC available out there. In the case of CAS parts, can you not find items that are close enough to the ones you really like, but that have been designed from scratch by others? I'm imagining you mean things like sweatshirts and jeans, at least that's what I think of first when I think of Uni, but maybe what you had in mind were more complicated than those...
