Save not showing up in game menu

Hello, I recently did a factory reset, I uninstalled everything, moved back all the files etc. Everything was going fine for a few weeks until today I wanted to load up my Angel City save that I last played 6 months ago. I went into the game menu and the Save was nowhere to be found. I exited the game to check my Saves folder and the Save is sitting there, all intact. I went back into the game menu to double-check and the save isn't there! Angel City is installed too (not with the launcher, but by moving the .world file) and even it wasn't installed, the Save still would show up but would be greyed out and would tell me I don't have the necessary world installed...

I don't know what the problem is and I'm so frustrated! Why can't I see my Save in the game menu? Does anyone have an idea?
  • Is it possible that you have too many saves in your Save folder for them to display? There is a limit, it seems to vary by player, beyond which saves that should show up for selection just stop doing so. Usually that's somewhere above 50 of them.
  • @igazor That was indeed the problem. I backed-up my saves and deleted most from the main folder and my Angel City save showed up.

@suzses No actually I was just giving an example when I mentioned that. When you have the save, but don't have the world, you should still be able to see the save in the menu, just greyed out and it won't let you access it.
When I couldn't see my save in the menu at first I thought to check if I had the world installed, but then I thought of the above example and crossed that possibility. A save should show up whether you have a corresponding world or not. So in my case it was a "too many saves to display" problem like Igazor suggested.

Big thanks to you both btw!

Wait, so the save did start to show up and gives a message you don't have the world installed? I think sometimes I've gotten away with moving world files and sometimes not, and I just got to the point where, when making a new folder, I always reinstall them and don't waste time trying to move them. I did a LOT of that a while back when I decided to make completely separate sims 3 documents folders for different games I play. I had, like igazor mentioned, not only too many saves in my folder, but too many worlds installed for everything to show up, and it was easier for me to go that route than to keep juggling what was in the folders and what was pulled out.
