Sims 3, Origin saying no games in library

Hi all. First off let me explain how my games are set up. My desktop computer is the main client for Origin. The only 2 games I have in Origin are TS3 and TS4. My wife's desktop also has the same games. Yesterday, she was able to play TS3 on her computer in offline mode. A little bit ago, she went to play her TS3 game and it is telling her "no games found in library" or something to that effect. If you open Origin on her computer, of course her games aren't there, and certain drop down menu items are grayed out, like "reload games". Origin on her computer says it's the servers are down. I got on my computer and Origin is working. I can load TS4 with no problems. The only thing I haven't tried was to sign off Origin on my computer and try to log on hers with it. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Definitely try signing out on your computer first. Origin is built to prevent two people using the same account at the same time, and you can't stay in offline mode forever—sooner or later, the app will require you to reconnect to EA servers.

If this doesn't help, you can try clearing Origin's cache on your wife's computer, or even uninstalling and reinstalling Origin itself, which wouldn't affect your installed games.

Thanks for the reply. I knew that you couldn't have two people on the same Origin account at the same time, but I wasn't aware that you still had to sign on every so often from offline. Makes sense though. I will try the suggestions. Thanks.

why will Origin make you reconnect online sooner or later?

I don't have internet connected to my gaming pc and although my game is working fine, over the past week when I close my game down, my origin screen pops up as usual however the screen is white and won't let me look at my games, account etc. I can still sign in ok in offline mode.

To connect it to the internet is the biggest pain the behind (I have to take my computer to someone else's house, set it all up etc, then take it apart, take it home and set it back up again)

Origin is like big brother, it's ridiculous
  • @Lilypink79 I don't know exactly how Origin manages things, but your situation may be different if you never patched to 1.69. Or perhaps your version of Origin is older and doesn't have the same requirements.

If you do need to login to Origin again, you can try to set up a mobile hotspot with your cell phone. Depending on your OS, your computer should be able to use the phone like wifi. I imagine the speed would be slow, and the data charges ridiculous, but logging in wouldn't take that long, and then you could go back into offline mode.

My backup PC has 1.69 been in offline mode for 1 1/2 years.

That did the trick! Just signing Origin back to online on her computer. I seem to remember dealing with my wife and I playing games at the same time. I remember now that in order to do that, one of our computers has Origin online and the other offline. We just started to get back into our Sims 3 and Sims 4 games.
