Sims all look the same!

I have to agree about sliders, although I haven't gotten into them yet. I've seen simmers in the forums that use sliders and their sims look amazing.
My favorite thing to use is CC skin. The right skin adds detail and definition that make sims look unique. Just remember that no amount of cc will make sims look great because of some lighting situations in game (sometimes outdoor lighting looks "harsh").
Here's a couple of before and after pics from CAS where I just added cc skin, hair and eyes, without touching facial structure.
These aren't even great examples, I just wanted to show what a little cc can do. There are way more talented sim creators that make very unique sims. ;)
