Some Cc not showing up in game. Help!

So I've recently installed the Sims 3 again as purchased a new gaming PC. I've spent hours looking at custom content and sorting it in my mods folder. When i finally load up the game only some Cc appears not all is present. Some Cc I install requires me to unzip the folder to get the .packagefile and others don't, i just place the .packagefile into my Mods folder. Could this be the problem? I also merge my Cc so my games runs smoother, could this effect anything?

I would really appreciate some help or answers! Thank you

  • Are you able to take a screenshot of what your mod folder looks like.I convert all .simspack into .packages and then merge .packages into single files to run smoother and don't have an issue.
  • A couple of things to note here, has this package based CC been checked with Dashboard? It's not a perfect tool but it can be very useful in helping to identify "bad" CC and that which was really meant for TS2 or TS4 as the different game iterations share file formats but cannot read each other's files. It can take only one piece of bad CC or something the game just cannot read to prevent much of what was to be read after it during the startup sequence to fail. Zipped and other compressed files like rars and 7zs do not belong in the TS3 user game folder at all, we are meant to extract (decompress) their contents before putting them to use.

On the merged content, some players will report that this doesn't make any difference but many others find that the merged bundles cannot be more than about 200 MB each or some content will fail to load. Also some forms of content (if I could just remember what they all are -- corner counters and custom patterns come to mind, as well as script/core mods) should not be merged.

  • You also need to consider that some cc may require an EP or content that you don't have installed in order for it to work. Ask me how I know that one. I often forget to read the fine print.

I don't have a Gaming PC but I usually do this as well... I created folders in my Mod folder that say 'Hair', 'Clothing', 'Earrings', and 'Skin'
So far this has worked for me though. I don't know if you divided them out like I did but maybe try that and see if it works?
  • @igazor thats what I did as well.I kept mine under 200 and it made a difference for me but others it doesn’t work.I don’t know why.
