Switching between households, is it worth it?

One switches active households, not lots. Apartments don't actually work that way -- the (Uni EP) lot type Apartment is really just a dormitory with sims who live there as NPC roommates coming and going all over the place as they please.
Are you perhaps using a mod to control your Apartment lot so that distinct households actually live in their own units?
