Hey there,
This thread is quite old and is being locked here to make sure info discussed or reported is relevant to the current version of the game.
Feel free to create a new thread if there's a subject you're wanting to discuss that doesn't have a more recent topic, thanks! - gt3y49uyslos1 month agoNewcomer
I think
baby: 0-1 years
toddler: 2-5 years
child: 5-14 years
teen: 14-20 years
young adult: 21-26 years
adult: 26-55 years
Elder: 55+
- It would be so cool if you could hover over a sim and their age showed, and maybe a feature to add to that like middle school and not being able to date a 13 year old when your on your way to graduating haha

And, for me, it'll soon be the 6th anniversary of my 29th birthday. :/ "R3B3CKVH;14902633" wrote:

I live in Texas, and I wasn't considered an adult until 18. That being said, I am going to be celebrating the 3rd anniversary of my 29th birthday in November, so it's been a while.. However, I think I would have heard about it if things have changed.
@nervous & Everyone Else:
Babies are definitely infants. They can't do anything except eat sleep or poop.
LOL @ 3rd anniversary! :D I'm on my 11th anniversary of that
My babies enjoy a good snuggle or toss in the air too. Just watch out for the projectile vomiting. :D - marstinson9 years agoNew ScoutI take a somewhat similar approach with life stages; different numbers, but same idea.
Babies: 1 or 2 days
Toddlers: however long it takes to do the potty-training, walking, talking, and such
Child: set at 14 days, but I usually throw a birthday party to speed things along
Teen: again it kind of depends on the family/world dynamic. I think I currently have it set at 21 days
Young Adult: 30 days
Adult: 30 days
Elder: whenever the Adults are ready to retire, I either throw a birthday party or toss an Age of Instant at them "R3B3CKVH;14902633" wrote:

Toddlers are in the learning stages- talking, walking, potty training, floor play... so they could be anywhere from a year to 4 years old.
I think YA starts at 18, because in the game, you can't attend university or graduate from high school until you are a YA. For most of us, that would be at around 18. For me, it was 17.
I like to think of the adults in their Mid 30's and up because the signs of aging are setting in.
Elders would have to be in their late 70's or higher because they are completely gray, and stooped over- barely able to walk, unless you give them the "gentleman" strut with a cane. my 93 year old grandmother walks better than the elders in the game do, but I see your reasoning, since Elder women can not have babies, you might conclude they are post menopausal.
I am in agreement with the others who don't see sims in ages, just stages. Best not to overthink it, I think.
This is the way I think of the stages too.
Also I have configured NRaas Story progression so my adults can not have children within 10 days of turning elder (I use a 91 day life span). So in my games they go menopausal before becoming an elder. That way the child will at least be a teen and can stay on by themselves in their own house when the parents die.
Edit: The stages I use are
baby - 2 days
toddler - 5 days
child - 7 days
teen - 14 days
YAdult - 21 days
adult - 35 days
elder - 7 days
Making everything a multiple of 7 means they always have their birthday on the same day of the week.- karritz9 years agoLegend

I rarely to never think of my sims in years. YA's are simply YA's, babies are babies, toddlers are toddlers, and so on.
Saves me having to guess.
That's the way I do it too. - ZombiePary9 years agoSeasoned AceI rarely to never think of my sims in years. YA's are simply YA's, babies are babies, toddlers are toddlers, and so on.
