- Emily4331Seasoned NewcomerMy current lifespan has babies at only 2 days. I just feel like in real life the "baby" stage versus the "toddler" stage doesn't last very long. And there isn't much to do with babies. So I just don't care to give them a ton of days. I feel like all the other lifestages have more of a purpose so I play them longer. Toddlers need to get their training in, Children are just fun to play, Teens are fun and have to get ready for university, etc. YA and A are my two favorite lifestages, with YA being my most favorite. Just because there is so much to do with them. And Elders I just like them to be able to live life the the fullest and would feel terrible if I killed them off too early.
- For me, personally it's a mixture between babies & children. Children I feel are just boring and too restricting. All they do is go to school, do homework & eat. I can't really do much else with them, even with mods! And babies? They don't really do anything... But children are my least favourite. At least with toddlers my Sims are always kept on their toes. My MOST favourite are teens & YA.
- Elders. Which doesn’t mean they’re not important in my game. It means I mainly interact with them as (grand)parents who live elsewhere.
- There's not much you can do with babies...
http://cuddlebuggery.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/rashida-jones-the-office-shrug-gif.gif - I've never played elder sims because I keep aging turned off and I don't like to age up my sims.
Edit- I just noticed this was under the sims 3, but my answer is the same since I don't like my sims to age or die - Baby :s
As soon as I get home from the hospital buy a cake and have a birthday aging them up to toddler.Babies get whatever two traits at birth assuming you were a good mommy. There is nothing to be gained messing with those little crying poo factories. At most will take a few screenies of the parents holding the baby then same day birthday always. - SimplyJenRising SpectatorBabies last for two days in my game. I don't age them up before that because, for me, it's cheating. At least they aren't useless objects you can buy in the buydebug section but I still plop them in a crib or swing and forget about them until it's time for cake.
- @Cororon I feel like baby and toddler are the shortest irl anyways. I think baby is like 0-2 and toddler is like 2-4-maybe5, then you're a kid, so it seems reasonable that those two would be short.
- SillyHartluvNew SpectatorI think I misread the post. I picked baby, because I seldom play with babies as my active sim. Most of the time I only click on them if they turn yellow and do not have the thought bubbles. I also have the baby stage set to the least amount of days for my lifespan, because it doesn't determine my sim's traits or impact my game as much as the other life stages do, which, if I think about most people don't remember being babies anyhow.
My sim babies get 7-14 days depending on the lifespan I'm playing. It is not always about the babies, but how the family copes with the new additions, especially if you like testing them with multiples like I do. Babies don't do much, but how do my sims deal with the feeding and pooping and crying etc in addition to work and chores and play time. That is part of the challenge and in sims 3 it is fun seeing them wave their cute little arms (with mod) in the stroller or the swing.
