Will Sims 3 be rendered unplayable in 2022 since the launcher depends on IE?

Hi,
I'm an avid Sims 3 Player and I'm very concerned by Microsoft's recent announcement support for and the Functionality of Internet Explorer on Windows 10 is being retired in 2022. Since the Sims 3 Game Launcher uses Internet Explorer Architecture to function, does that mean there will be no way to launch the game or access Sim Port, Store Items, and other Online Features in 2022? I play Sims 4 as well but Sims 4 is a huge step backwards in terms of Gameplay Depth in my humble opinion. Can any technology Gurus that are more knowledgeable about how the launcher works than I a provide me with any insight on this impending situation? Any help that anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

I would say yes? When TS5 releases it will only be a matter of time before TS3 gets the axe, it will go the way of TS2, it will become outdated and more buggy.

This isn't about will Sims 3 go if 5 comes along, it's about will it be unplayable when IE gets shut down. So this seems like rather bad info for this topic. As for TS5, no one knows if EA is even doing it and if they are, no one knows when it'll come out.
