Has anyone run into this Launcher connection issue today? I saw a thread from about a month ago with folks experiencing the same issue. Seems like it has something to do with an EA/TheSims3 server error ... ?I also noticed that Edge (which I don't use) went through an update at some point. Not sure if that's related to the "400" issue, though. I've run though as many troubleshooting steps as possible like clearing cache, adjusting network settings, etc. (minus un/re-installing all my games), still no luck. I can still login to the Sims 3 website, but when I try downloading content, I get the message on the Launcher that "there was an error while downloading". And then there's the Log file info:2026/01/21|15:22:30|assetId: 7476480|Exchange Download Failure. Download manifest server error.||||Build Version: 1.69.47.024017|Platform: PC|Locale: en_US|Content URL: http://store.thesims3.com|Web Services URL: http://igs.thesims3.com|I can play the game no problem, but I was just getting started on cleaning up content I've had stored on the Exchange for more than a decade, and it's looking like it has to be uploaded through the launcher for me to even get the packs in an accessible format to clean them. I hope it's resolvable, and I really hope it won't take weeks/months like what others have experienced 😓

puzzlezaddict, I really appreciate you for responding and for offering those troubleshooting steps. There were a couple snags out the gate, so I'll recap what I ended up doing in case it helps others later. clear Edge's Internet Explorer-mode data: This should be a simple first step. In Edge, navigate to Settings -> Privacy, search, and searches -> Clear browsing data -> Choose what to clear. And from there, the option to clear IE-mode data should appear as a blue hyperlink at the bottom of the menu, right ..... ? Nope, not for me!I mentioned in my OP that I don't use Edge as my browser. So, I figured the option wasn't appearing because I didn't have any IE-mode data to clear in the first place. To test this, I went through additional steps to turn on IE-mode through Edge (here's a walkthrough) and added the Sims3 website to the list, just to make sure something would trigger the IE-mode setting. After I visited the Sims3 website and clicked around other sites a bit, I went back through the steps to clear the data, et voilà! After that, I opened and closed the Sims 3 Launcher a couple times for good measure, but it eventually returned to normal and I was able to download my Store/Exchange/Studio content through it just as before. Maybe there were other factors involved that I'm unfamiliar with, but the point is, we're up and running!Thank you, thank you 🫶

Hey there,Is anyone else getting this issue when trying to use the launcher?I'm trying to get back into the game for some cozy fun, even just bought some content to play with from the store. However, I can't download it because it keeps asking me to put in my password, even when I'm already logged in. It just won't accept it.For what I have already done:Restarted the launcherUsed Repair on the EA launcherUninstalled and reinstalled the gameRestarted my computerCleared the cache on both explorer and Chrome.Renamed the folder in documents so it would reset.Nothing has worked, so I'm coming here... I hope someone can help or I'm just out of 40 dollars... Sigh...

SiegeWeapon I tested this just now on my Mac, and the launcher loaded as normal. I had no trouble downloading one set from the Store and one item from my studio. So the Store and Exchange are working from the EA side, at least in general. There of course could still be a problem in Windows. No one else has reported this issue today, so you might be the first, or this might just be on your side. To that end, please clear Edge's Internet Explorer-mode data. If that alone doesn't help, do it again and at the same time, move or rename the Sims 3 folder in Documents > Electronic Arts so the game creates a new one the next time you open the launcher. You can test with this new folder in place, and when you're done, delete it and restore the old folder, or move your saves and other content over from the old folder.

Thank you for your message! Turns out I also couldnt find the IE data to delete and accidentally kept deleting Edge data. After following SiegeWeapons instructions more closely I was able to enable and delete the IE data which fixed the sims3 launcher ! But still thank you for thinking about my problem, I appreciate it :)

Hey I just want to say a personal thank you because without you explaining that you need to enable IE mode I would still be stuck! Thank you so so much!!

lykanthropy You're getting the error 400, and nothing in this thread has helped? Please go over all the suggestions if you haven't already.

If those don't or didn't help, try clearing Windows temp files:

Click Windows key-R and enter %temp% in the run box

You should be in C:\Users\your username\AppData\Local\Temp

Delete everything inside; if you can't, restart the computer and try again

Restart (again) after you've deleted all the files and folders

Moose70 To be clear, you're still getting the same error when trying to download Roaring Heights, even after you could download Riverview without issues? It's possible there's something wrong with the purchase, but you wouldn't be able to see that from your end. You could try contacting EA customer support to ask specifically about the status of your purchase, but I'm not sure a support rep would know how to look for that kind of issue.

I'm still trying to figure out why I can't download Roaring Heights. I did everything and some but nothing works. I did go to the free download Riverview, bingo! Downloaded no problem! But the game I bought I can't get... :(

I have managed to work it again.

i cleared the cache and anything in the internet settings at the control panel and it solved my issue.
I think this is one of the others workaround. i don't know will it solve other's issue in this type of error, but it solved mine.

no i didn't cleared the registry.
The launcher stopped working yesterday afternoon. Before that it worked as it should.
Can you link something where shows how to clear the registry step by step.
Can you link where can i find the custom launcher?

Did you clean the registry during the reinstallation to remove all traces?
Did the launcher ever work on your PC, or do you have a new PC now?
There is a custom launcher for Sims 3 from LazyDuchess. It's not directly from EA, but you could give it a try.

Hello everyone!
From yesterday i am facing a login issue at the "The sims3 launcher".

See attached screenshot

After a several chat sessions with the advisors here is the steps what i already performed to solve the issue but it still persist.
Steps in order:
1: Clear cache
2: clear edge cache. (internet explorer mode not exists at current version)
3: Delete account.bin files, from document/ EA folder
4: Repair files.
5: Clean boot.
6: ipconfig / release -> ipconfig /flushdns -> ipconfig /renew
7: Change password.
8: Deleted the following: dccache, dc backup, downloads
9: Uninstall
10: clear all remaining folders and files
11: fresh new install
12: uninstall and clear again
13: ipconfig/flushdns -> ipconfig /registerdns -> ipconfig /release -> ipconfig /renew -> netsh winsock reset -> Reboot your computer
14: install again
May i ask a help what can i do to solve the problem?
