@ImIncrediblyOlD Your dxdiag shows a few generic Windows errors and a few others that could be related to the graphics driver. So please start by running a couple of basic checks to your Windows system files:
- Hit Windows key-X
- Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
- Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes, and enter
- The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
- After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again
- Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator)”
- Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes, and enter
- Post the message you receive here
Restart your computer, hit Windows key-i, select Update & Security, and click the box to check for updates. If any install, restart again afterwards.
Next, please do a clean uninstall and reinstall of the graphics driver, as described here:
You can get a fresh copy of the newest driver here:
Restart your computer after installing the driver and before trying to play.
The edit to the .ini file is unnecessary and possibly harmful. The value in that file is 20 GB, not 2 (count the zeroes), and it's not the usable RAM, it's the maximum size of the script heap. The recommendation to change it is terrible information and should have disappeared years ago, but it's been repeated by people who have no idea what the value refers to but want to sound smart. Sims 3 has been large-address aware, meaning it can use up to just shy of 4 GB RAM, since 2010.
Anyway, please revert the change, or repair the game to restore the default version. If you do repair, your edits to the .sgr files will also revert, so make copies before repairing or reapply the edits afterwards.
hello i've done what you told me to do however the game still freezes.
I've actually realised that the game freezes when I do a thing that requires for the game to load a certain object, action or UIs. I found continuous patterns of freezing when I use builders mode and try to apply paint to the walls or try to conjure a spell in the supernatural expansion pack or when I try to click on my sim to do something.
