Analysis - freezing/crashing when trying to check into a resort

How can anyone be expected to enjoy the IP expansion pack when we can't use one of its main features - resorts. Had my sim quit being a singer (with showtime) so she can go to resort but my game continues to freeze. Same with my other unemployed sim. This is not cool at all.
