Crashing game

Hello, I'm in desperate need of some help as I cannot find anything to fix my current game. About 4 days ago, my save started crashing for the first time ever. For context, I had just aged up my four children to teens, and this is when I started encountering this issue. At no point in the days between times I'd played with no issues and then the crashing had I installed any new custom content or any mods. I thought maybe the save was corrupted so I saved the family to the library, started a new save, went to edit town and when I moved in the household it would crash. I thought maybe the size of the family was the issue as I had 10 sims in the household using mods, so I split the family and when moving in, crashed. I thought maybe the sims are the issue so I remade them in CAS, moved them in, crashed. I returned to the old save, tried to reset everything using Nraas MC and it crashed half-way through, tried one more time, successfully reset, and my pets were deleted and then 1 minute in it crashed AGAIN. I tried one more time with the same save, and it was smooth sailing, until my teens tried to leave the house for school. I haven't been able to get past this. Every time the teens leave the house, the game crashes, and its only the teenagers, not any other sims.

Now, I've looked on this forum for any sort of resolution to no avail. I've tried capping the fps, I've gone through my mods and deleted any broken or conflicting mods, I've tried a new save and I just cannot think of any way to fix this. I've been playing this game for years and I'm at a complete loss.

Usually, I'd just start a completely new game, but I'm on my 7th generation and this is an important family, and not only that but playing a new save isn't working either. Help!!!

  • @TaylarGrace  Have you tried playing with no mods (except those from NRaas) and no custom content?  That would be the next step.  Sometimes cc is fine until it comes in contact with the wrong sim, in terms of age or gender, and some bad cc can stick to a sim even when it looks to be removed.

If this doesn't help, please start a new save without any of your current sims, for comparison's sake, and let me know whether it crashes.

I figured it out!! I took your advice that it was very likely that it was the mods, but since I knew it was one of the four sims messing with the content, I went through process of elimination of what sim made the game crash. I then knew that it was one of the sims hair (cc) that was causing the game to crash. I don't know why it was doing this but I'm just super glad to have it fixed. Thank you for your help!!!
