@Jacquie06 There isn't a way to undo the update, but if you can install via disc without involving the EA App, you could uninstall your current version of the game, clean your computer's registry, and reinstall using your discs. Let me know if you'd like help with this process.
Otherwise, please repair the game (EA App > Sims 3 > Manage > Repair) and try again to play. If you can't, please run a dxdiag and attach it to your reply.
