Solved

Download stuck at 99% percent and I've tried everything in the "troubleshoot guide"

I've turned off every firewall on my router, my system and even un-installed my virus/protection software. I've cancelled all add-ons, such as adblock etc, I've even searched through every forum there is on this issue, and there seems to be no solution.

So, buying a digital copy was a bad idea I guess? Or can Windows 8, Origin (yes... the latest version), be combined to be a trustworthy distribution source?

i.e, can't download, tried everything in the troubleshoot - please somebody, help...

do you have BitDefender as it is know to cause conflict with the sims 3 temporarily disable it or also another thing to try is this   If that doesn’t help close the origin client and go directly to you origin folder  C:\Program Files\Origin Games. Run the origin.exe in this folder with a rightclick -> run as administrator restart the computer or C:\Program Files\(x86)Origin  or the origin icon on the desktop right click run as admin restart the computer

Launch Origin and log in with your account   - Click Origin in the top left (main menu)   - Select Application Settings   - From General tab, scroll down to "Update to the beta version if available" and tick the checkbox   - Restart Origin

last resort is to uninstall origin then reinstall origin

  • Did not work. I have started to believe it has something to do with my Router and not Origin - as some YouTube videos won't load either (not all but some). That happens to all devices connected to my network. I've fiddled with firewalls and MTU's and add-ons and all. . .

So £100 new router is probably the only way to go :/

awwww a ton for a router has argos any special offers might tide you over untill you can get the more expensive one

  • tried putting the cable in the wall (by-passing the router) - still the same issue. So calling my service provider. Ugghh. .. .

  • That fixed everything! My service provider has not even been able to figure it out for weeks why some stuff works and some stuff wont - but this fixed it! Fantastic! Not only did the download of Sims 3 work properly, but the YouTube-vids that work in my office but never at home started working without any problems! Thank you so much! 🙂

fantastic to hear    🙂  happy simming  and video watching 🙂

  • I deleted the update or canceled the progress. Quit Origin. Run Origin as Admin. Then started update from scratch. It worked.
