Game crashed after purchasing sims3 Supernatural yesterday

I only started playing sims 3 one month ago. I had the starter bundle pack (high end loft & nite life). And Roaring Heights&Some store content.  Then I added Season and all my content was gone.  Found an old post from you to create a new folder and download one item at a time. It worked. But I did have to start over from scratch.  Lost all my plays and everything.  It was working fine until yesterday I thought buying Supernatural would be ok and wouldn’t have a repeat. It was and much worse. And when trying to work with tech support they deleted the high end loft and nite life from my library.  Very frustrating....

  • @clairecoffee  I can't help with the missing packs; you'll need to go back to support and ask them to re-add your content.  (If this doesn't work, please let me know.)  But just to make sure, please clear Origin's cache:

    https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/

restart your computer, open Origin, click on the Sims 3 icon, select More > Expansion Packs, scroll down to Late Night, and see whether you can download it.  Do the same for High-End Loft Stuff.  It's possible the packs are still on your account, and forcing Origin to refresh its data will make them available again.

When you create a new Sims 3 user data folder, you don't need to delete the old folder.  The point is to install store content into a clean folder, with no interference from anything else.  Then you can copy over your saves, saved households and builds, and anything else you want to keep.  Here's a complete list of the files in that folder, so you know what to copy over and what to ignore:

    https://sims3.crinrict.com/en/2011/01/faq-user-files.html

However, it's possible that the saves that you played while Late Night and HELS were installed won't open now that those packs are gone, or else they'll open but be corrupt.  So it might be better to wait to try to play those saves until you have the packs installed again.

@puzzlezaddict Thanks for your help. Tech support had me clear the cache. I tried all day yesterday on live chat trying to get my content re-add. Got nowhere.
The reason I said I had to start from scratch was b/c when I did try to copy my saves back in to the new folder it crashed the game again. So I had to do it again...
I apologize if I’m not explaining this properly. I’m new to this. I do have screenshots of error messages I have gotten (try to show “tech support”).

@clairecoffee  Screenshots of the errors would be great.  I'm not sure why tech support couldn't or wouldn't add your packs back into your account; it shouldn't work like that.

@clairecoffee  I'm so sorry, I somehow missed your replies.  Do you still need help with Sims 3?  If so, you have two options.  One is to try again to upgrade your version of Sims 3 to the Access version, the one that includes Late Night and HELS.  If you can't click Upgrade directly, clearing Origin's cache and launching Sims 3 once usually triggers the offer to upgrade again.

You could also try removing the game from Access and re-adding it.  Open your Origin game library, right-click on the Sims 3 icon, select Uninstall, and choose "Revert game edition."  If you don't see this particular option, let me know.

The other option is to skip the Access content entirely.  In that case, you wouldn't be able to play your old saves, but your other packs should stay installed going forward.
