HELP PLEASE....Freezing Issue
I have Sims 3 and it keeps freezing on me. I got a new dell inspiron 3000 series with Intel Core i5 in it. Saw a computer guy that told me that my computer can not be equipped with a video card unfor...
Please forgive ALL the replies.....it wouldnt let me do the WHOLE thing in one response. As you requested, here are some things you need to know:
1. I only have one expansion.....Pets.....but it is not installed on the computer--only the base game
2. It freezes, as in lags.....it will be fine for a while, then stop all of a sudden and I can't click on anything or do anything, then it unfreezes and lets me go about my business. This, I have to say, is a vast improvement from my old computer if you can believe that.
As I said before, this is a new computer..........laptop to be exact......to be even more exact than this it is a Dell Inspiron 15 3000 series......it has an Intel core i5. I was told that there is no video card, no way to fix that at all. I know that it has no dedicated memory to it and last I checked, and maybe I did it wrong but theres no way to change the BIOS at all like some sites suggest. This is a gaming laptop and I spent good money on it and so I would LOVE it if there was some sort of fix to this problem.
You did that correclty. There's no other way than to split it up 🙂
Your chip doesn't have any dedicated memory at all so that could be one reasons. If it's more like freezes, it could also be a stuck Sim though
Try resetting all your Sims in your town with resetsim *
To do so
This should put all your sims and animals to a safe location.
You might have a stuck Sim somewhere

Thankyou for the help! I have two questions.......if its not my sim (I am only in control of maybe only two), could it still be a stuck sim in the community that I am playing? (I think that is what you had said, but I wanted to make sure to clarify).
Also, if it IS the dedicated memory, what can be done about it? I have already talked to a guy about putting in another video card, but he said it can't be done. At most, he had suggested getting a new computer--which is NOT happening because this is a brand new computer--or getting another fan to keep my computer from heating up......he said it MIGHT help. Although I am not sure how much a new fan would cost and not even sure how well that would work.
I will try, next time I am playing the game, to reset the sim and the town. HOPEFULLY that is it.
Thank you for all your help!!
Thankyou again for all your help!! I will try to reset the sim and the town and see if that works. I hope that this is what it is because if its the fact that I dont have any dedicated memory because that would **bleep** me off. My Dad got this amazing gaming computer and I love it, but it shouldnt be THIS hard to find a Sim-worthy computer nor should you have to buy the most expensive laptop out there in order to run it either. EA seriously needs to revamp their whole game and take into account that some people just dont have dedicated memory on their computers. Im surprised that they haven't had any angry people knocking down their doors concerning this to be honest.
