How do I transfer my game to my C drive?

I have The Sims 3 installed on my D drive which has a lot of space but is an HDD. I want to put it on my C drive which has less space but is an SSD. I heard that the game will load faster on an SSD. Can I copy the files to my C drive or something? My internet is slow and I don't want to download the whole thing overnight again.

  • @YukiSnowChild  If you're playing through the EA App, there is unfortunately no way to tell the App to move the game.  What you can try is moving the files to where you want them, then telling the App to download to that location.  The App may simply verify the files rather than downloading the data all over again.  However, this definitely doesn't work all the time and may not work at all anymore, in which case you're stuck downloading the game again.  Sorry.

And yes, this is one of many features of Origin that we wish existed in the App but do not yet.

Darn. I'll just keep it as is until the weather gets better so I can download overnight then.

I decided to try it anyway. I copied my install folder to my C drive and it looked like the app was just verifying the files. It went directly from preparing to finalizing. It finished in like two minutes. It also loaded my save game quickly. I will never go back to an HDD with this game again!
