It's not HB that screwed up. After redeeming the code for Sims 3, we should have been given 20 digit codes which can be viewed in the Origin client by right-clicking the game and clicking Show Game Details but it's actually only the 16 digit code we used to redeem it, which can't be used to install.
Yeah I know this, I'm having the same problem, I'm just saying EA sending a batch of codes to HB to put on our key pages seems like a simple way to solve the problem.
You'd think they would do that but no. Fixing the server overload issue seems more important right now. At least that's the impression I get from seeing all the various threads about this and other problems, most of which seem centered around one specific game (The Sims 3). Going into online chat seems fruitless since all I've had so far is cut and paste responses that have nothing to do with my inquiry, or being completely ignored to the point where I just leave. The last person I talked to told me that they're aware of this issue, and are trying to resolve it. Now, I understand this is a community customer to customer support site, but you can't tell me that EA doesn't look in here and see all the problems people are having. Myself, I have a different problem than the one listed here. What happened with me was, I had a previous installation of The Sims 3 base game, so I bought the HB thinking I could get some free DLC. Well, 26 hours later, no DLC listed, nor is anything in my purchase history. Origin client had no problem whatsoever registering all 7 of the other games, it's just The Sims 3 that asks for a code that most people do not have. Why they had you register the code on a completely different site rather than from the origin client is beyond me. That's where the problem actually is. Codes registered on thesims3.com or the origin website are either not working entirely, have been used on one or the other site so cannot register the game, or just plain not given to those who purchased it. Sad thing is, EA never had this problem before that I'm aware of, they just had problems with keeping people buying their games and staying on their servers. Read a post a whilte back in another thread that stated that EA servers were pretty empty up until the HB came along. Now that they are loaded with new people (EA should have prepared for this before doing the HB), EA can't keep up with the complaints of server drops and other problems (SimCity 5 comes to mind). Seeing as how I've waited more than 24 hours and nothing has been done, or hasn't changed the situation responses from the beginning, perhaps it is time that EA makes an official statement on what is happening and what they are doing to resolve the numerous issues people are running into. I'm not saying that they should give us some more free DLC, no that is not what I want. I just wanted an official statement of what is being done to resolve the issue. Perhaps a popup on the main site and/or thesims3.com stating what they THINK is the problem, and the course of action they are taking to resolve the issue, not just giving cut and paste answers from Notepad. I dunno, perhaps I am just being an ungrateful customer by asking for an official response.....
