Invalid product key code for bonus content with 70s 80s 90s pack?

Hi all,

I'm having a weird issue trying to download the Origin pre-order bonus for the Sims 3 70s 80s & 90s Stuff Pack, the Decades Pinball Machine. When I go to the page to register the code I received through e-mail for downloading the game, I get a message saying that I entered an invalid code.

The code itself is 16 letters/digits, split up into 4 chunks of 4. I tried entering it with and without dashes but got the same error. I tried downloading it using the code with the Origin client, but got an unspecified error just directing me back to the Answer HQ.

Can someone offer me advice on steps I can take? I apologize if this is a weird question to ask here, but I've checked the help website multiple times and the Live Chat option never seems to be available.

Thanks in advance for any tips anyone can provide!

  • Sorry. Didn't read thoroughly enough I guess 🙂

Not sure what's going on those. EA has been changing stuff around with the codes so many times, I've no idea what the current status is.

Did you guys check your purchase history to see if that also autoregisters to your account now ?

If it's not, I'm afraid you will need to contact Customer Support since only they can help you with serial codes.

I'll check the forums if there are any news there. Maybe someone already did contact CS and has some info.

Code's working now for me. Best theory is that some nice guy from EA saw the problem on this topic and quietly fixed it? And all without taking credit?

Well, whoever that masked avenger of pre-order bonuses is... thank you sir / ma'am!!

  • Same for me.  Only I can't register Seasons or the 70's 80's 90's Stuff pack, either.  It says my codes are invalid!  I'm getting them right off of the Origin Information screen!

Sorry this isn't a help, but wanted to report the same problem.

  • You're right.  I did purchase it on Origin, but when I tried to register from the Sims 3 My Page, I got the same message.  The code is invalid.

But crinrict, I think the problem we described is different. I can actually load up the main 70s 80s and 90s content just fine. What I'm describing is a single bonus item that requires having a code used, at the following URL: http://www.thesims3.com/incentive/sp8originredeem

Here are the specific instructions that were delivered via e-mail:

Here’s how to redeem your Origin exclusive The Decades Pinball Machine:

    1. Install your The Sims™ 3 game first!
    2. Register with The Sims™ 3 Community if you haven't already- Go to www.thesims3.com/register in your browser or click the "Sign Up Now" button on the Game Launcher.
    3. Return to this page: www.thesims3.com/incentive/sp8originredeem and enter the unique code you received from Origin in the field on the right.
    4. Once your code is entered, you'll see a link to install the item from your Purchase History page (found on store.thesims3.com). Locate the item on your Purchase History page and click install*. This will launch the game and install your item.

Yes, there has been an issue which has been fixed (not so quietly if you know where to look)  🙂
