puzzlezaddict made me aware of this issue yesterday and I was able to get some eyes from Maxis on it. We're able to reproduce this behavior on our side now and are investigating the root cause as we speak.

Hey! I had this problem too. On my ea app for max when I open sims 3 it first opens the launcher and then I hit play to go into the game save area itself. Click the 3 dots and you should see the world in ur download dashboard. Click install and if it redirects you to the launcher go back to the regular download dashboard screen on the other tab. Wait til it says downloaded to menu and DO NOT get out of the dashboard. After a while go to the launcher from the other tab and click the play button directly no matter what don’t click any other buttons on the launcher even when it shows an exclamation mark. Sorry if this is confusing but it worked for me when downloading the hidden springs world. It just needs time to download or else it glitches and crashes.
