Lots/Sims won't load

Hello, today when I went to play my game, the lot and sims failed to load. I also couldn't command my sim to do anything. Here's an image of what happened:

This house is fully furnished. The inside just wouldn't load. You can even see the little green thing where my sim should be, but isn't showing up. This happened for every single lot.

Here's another screenshot of when I went to edit mode.

Edit: Also want to clarify that this didn't happen on start-up. The problem appeared roughly 30mins into playing the game. Restarting it does the same thing. It's fine for half an hour and then this happens.

  • @gemjasmine  Please move your entire Sims 3 user data folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  Don't add anything to this folder, unless your existing save takes place in a store or custom world; in that case, install only that world, nothing more.  Go into Saves inside the Sims 3 folder you moved, copy your save, and paste it into Saves in the new folder.  Load your game and test.

If this doesn't help, let me know whether you use mods, and whether you'd be willing to try a few.

@brookangel  Your hardware is more than fine for Sims 3, which you probably already know.  Your C drive is very low on space though.  It probably isn't affecting Sims 3, but it's possible if you have other programs running at the same time or Windows tries to update while you're playing.  I'd suggest freeing up at least another 15 GB or so, i.e. over 25 GB in total, to eliminate this as a potential source of error and for the overall health of your system.

Other than that, it might be your mods or custom content, or it might be playing in an overly complicated world.  It's difficult to be sure.

Please also let me know whether you've taken steps to limit your in-game framerates.  If not, and you'd like help with the process, let me know.  This is a necessary step on almost all dedicated graphics cards, which are otherwise happy to produce framerates well into the hundreds and far beyond what the monitor can display.

My fps is capped at 60 using Nvidia I play with FPS ON when in game so I can always look at it, I have Sims 3 on my other drive and I only ever have Sims 3 and maybe discord/chrome open I never have other games open if Sims is on just because its sims and I already know it takes alot of resources. I'll free up space on the other driver though. I am in the process of testing another fresh save in the same town.

So with this new save I ported the family over and tried playing them to then get this again in the new save after maybe 10 minutes of play, I'll post the screenshots

These are the only lots that did it, but when it happens time still moves but the sims are stuck frozen basically, I had cancelled her interaction hours ago (In sim time) and she stood still while all her needs depleted as you can see. They just never move again and the game has to be restarted.

This is a better angle showing all the lots that ALWAYS bug out, for some reason its the high rises only. Should point out none of my sims live/were in these places/community lots when bugs occur. Its always random.

@brookangel  Please test in a clean user folder, as described in the accepted solution on page one, and don't add in your sims or any other content.  The point is to find out whether this happens in a save with none of your current content: no sims, no cc, no cache files, nothing.  If the new save is fine, you can start adding your existing content a little at a time, testing along the way to find out what's causing the problem.
