Missing most expansion packs

Hi everyone! I've had this issue for quite some time now and EA support is incredibly hard to get into touch with so I decided to start a discussion here. I think my situation is bit of a unique one so forgive me if I over-explain, i just wanna make sure I give as much context and info as possible.

Almost all of my expansion packs were purchased/gifted as physical copies between the years of 2012-2016. They were downloaded back when we were still using origin. I think somewhere in the switch to EA my expansion packs got lost, or never transferred over? I know that happened years ago, its been quite some time since i had played. The only expansion packs currently in my library are the one I digitally downloaded.

I had a support ticket with EA yesterday, I did everything they told me to do and tried very solution shown to me and still don't have my packs. Very strange, all we had done was reset the email on my account for some reason and he said he updated my account to restore my DLC but it never worked. Then he just told me to start a new ticket but that's not really the easiest thing, the ea help website doesn't just give you that option

My question is if there's a way to prove that I owned these packs at some point at all? Its proven difficult since they were all downloaded off of discs so long ago, I don't actually have the discs or registration codes they came with or any sort of receipt since its been about 10 years.

Any help or input at all is much much appreciated!!

  • marianna1016  It is very possible that the packs weren't properly restored or transferred, whatever was necessary in order to make them work.  What you could ask is that your current versions of the packs be removed first, then new copies added to your account.  Make sure every copy of each affected pack is removed, in case another support rep simply added a second or third copy to try to fix the issue.

Normally I'd say you'd need the discs or at least the codes to prove ownership.  But your account probably has some kind of record of the previous packs since support has already tried to help with this.

As for getting the live chat option again, try this link:

    https://help.ea.com/en/help-contact-us/?product=the-sims-3&topic=missing-game&category=manage-my-account&subcategory=find-missing-game

Make sure you're signed into an EA site (this one is fine) before clicking the link and that the location in the lower-right corner of the browser window is set to U.S. or U.K.

Alternately, try using the help site without being signed in.  Some categories of issue allow you to proceed without an active login, and many of those offer the live chat option.

Thanks for the live chat link, I managed to get in touch with another customer service agent but still don't have a solution. They insist there's no record of the packs on my account, and also insisting that they would need the original registration keys to reactivate, but its been 10 years and I don't have them and have no way of finding them. I ended up finding proof of purchase of 2 of the packs from amazon but it wasn't proof enough I guess.

I'm sad to see that I cant be offered a solution. I've played these games for 10 years and have spent hundreds on EA games and DLC. Its discouraging how difficult it is to find a way to contact them and then to not actually find a fix is incredibly frustrating. I hope EA does better in the future.

Thank you for your help regardless!

    Hi marianna1016

It sounds like these missing packs had been previously registered to a different older EA account than the one you're currently logging in with.

Account recovery isn't something we can look into over the forums, so you'd want to get in contact with live support again so they can try and locate an older account of yours. You'd want to provide any older emails you may have used in the past, or if you can, try to locate one of the game codes for these packs.

Live support will need to verify that you're the owner of that older account as well, so you will need to provide enough accurate information in order for the team to get you logged back in again.

Try submitting a new help request on the site here so the team can take another look with you.
