Moonlight falls not working

So I have the sims three supernatural and before the January update it was working fine, since the update moonlight falls is broken I can select it when starting a new game but it won’t load in it loads sunset valley instead, I looked it up and it said to reinstall , delete cache files, remove all mods and remove the pack individually and reinstall I have done all of these things and it still won’t show up! I tried having my sim to move to the town in game but my game ends up crashing, literally doesn’t show up in game at all , I even tried using the moonlight falls fix mod doesn’t work, I honestly give up can anyone help me?? Thanks

  • MillieT03  Are you saying that Moonlight Falls isn't an option to start a new save, or that it is an option but the game loads Sunset Valley instead?  When you load a new save in SV, does the other content from Supernatural load?  An obvious indicator would be the moon phases, but please check Build/Buy or CAS for related content too.

Please also let me know what kind of install this is: EA App, disc, Steam, mixed, or something else.

Hi yes it is an option to select but when I do it loads sv instead of moonlight falls , also yes the other content works from the pack such as supernatural types , the Cas items, I haven’t checked the moonphases but it is selected in my options , this is an EA app install, thank you so much for taking the time to reply, I tried Bridgeport just to see if it was just the one and that’s working fine so

  • MillieT03  Okay, try manually deleting and reinstalling only Supernatural.  Make sure the EA App is closed and the EABackgroundService is NOT running in the Task Manager's background processes list.  Open [install location]\The Sims 3 and delete the EP07 folder.  If there's an EP07 folder inside a Delta folder (I don't remember and don't have a Windows install in front of me right now), delete that too.  Clear the EA App's cache:

    and reinstall Supernatural.

I realize you already uninstalled and reinstalled the pack, but this is a bit more thorough.

Hi sorry to ask I know it’s a bother but I am autistic and need more detailed instructions as to not get overwhelmed could you possibly give me a step by step if not don’t worry about it :) thanks

  • MillieT03  I can try to make the steps more specific, but I'm not sure which part you need help with.  If you open the EA App and click Sims 3 in your library, or in the left panel, and then click Manage, then View properties, you'll see the game's install location.  This is the default location, which you could have changed:

    C:\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 3

Write this down if you're not going to remember it.

Close the EA App by clicking the three lines in the upper-left corner of the screen and selecting Exit.  Right-click the Task Bar at the bottom of your screen, select the Task Manager, and under background processes, find the EABackgroundService.  Right-click its name and select End Task.

Open a File Explorer window and navigate to the install location.  Inside the Sims 3 folder, you'll see one folder for each expansion or stuff pack you've installed, along with some others.  The EP07 folder corresponds to Supernatural.  You can delete it by dragging it to the recycle bin.  I think there's a Delta folder with other data inside, but I don't have my Windows install in front of me at the moment (it's at home and I am not), so I can't check.  If you don't see one, that's fine, skip that step.

Restart your computer and clear the EA App's cache (linked above).  Open the App, click Sims 3 > Manage > Manage add-ons, find Supernatural on the list, and you should be able to download it again.

Nope still loads sunset valley thank you for trying to help but I don’t think there’s a fix

  • MillieT03  Please remove or rename the Sims 3 folder in Documents > Electronic Arts.  Maybe some file in this folder is corrupt in a way that would cause your issue.  I haven't seen it happen before, but since it's technically possible, and this is an easy test, please try it.  This will remove, but not delete, your saves and other user content, so don't panic when you don't see those files available.

If that doesn't help, please do a clean uninstall and reinstall of Sims 3 and the EA App, as described here (the reply):

Create a new folder into which you'll install Sims 3, as mentioned.  If you use a third-party antivirus, disable it while reinstalling the game, and don't reenable it until you've tested once.  As long as you don't do anything else at the same time, your computer should be safe.
