Need Clarification

So, I just started my game up today and saw what I saw in the image attached. Can anyone tell me why that information is showing up? Its happening to all of my lots.

For reference: DOT10_World/Empty/LotAddress:Lot22

  • That message means the game can’t properly read the world or lot address (the “DOT10_World/Empty/LotAddress:Lot22” text). It’s a common Sims 3 issue that usually happens when the game can’t locate or load the right world data.

    Here’s how to fix it:

**If you’re using a custom world:**
Make sure the world’s .world file is still installed in:
    Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\InstalledWorlds
and that the file name matches what the save expects. If it was renamed, moved, or reinstalled, that can cause the error.

**If it’s happening to all lots:**
It usually means the game’s cache files are corrupted. Go to:
    Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3
    and delete the following files:
    - CASPartCache.package
    - compositorCache.package
    - scriptCache.package
    - simCompositorCache.package
    - socialCache.package

These will regenerate next time you start the game.

**If you recently reinstalled or moved saves:**
The save might be referencing a world that isn’t properly reinstalled yet. Reinstall or reimport that world, and the issue should clear up.

**If it’s just a display glitch:**
Try saving the lot to your library (bin) and re-placing it in the world — this can refresh the lot info.

    **Summary:**
This isn’t a major bug, just the game losing track of where the lot is located. Clearing caches or reinstalling the world usually fixes it.

  • monstamunch72 thank you so much for your help. I have tried the other options that you mentioned because I play on the mac and at the moment our downloads tab where we can reinstall store content or cc is crashes. We are currently waiting on an update, but my next question is, will this effect my game in any way? Or what are the other troubleshooting options you have? Bc this occurred after an EA representative was trying to figure out the issue with the Sims 3 Launcher crashing when clicking on downloads.

    Hey again! 👋

No worries — that extra info helps a lot. Since you’re on a Mac, the “lot address” text issue itself won’t damage your game or saves — it just means the world reference isn’t displaying properly, but gameplay is fine.

As for the Launcher crashing when reinstalling Store or CC content, that’s a known Mac-side issue with the current EA App / Origin update. EA’s already aware and working on a fix.

    For now, try these workarounds:

Clear your Sims 3 cache (those 5 cache files).

Launch the game directly (bypass the Launcher if you can).

If you need to reinstall Store content, do it in small batches, not all at once — that helps avoid Launcher overload.

Back up your Downloads and InstalledContent folders so you don’t lose anything while EA patches it.

The “lot address” text won’t affect your saves, but once EA fixes the Launcher issue, reinstalling or refreshing your Store worlds should also clear that up completely.
