@antlermagick You CAN mix disc version and digital download version. Mine are both. The reason for the change is newer version of Windows no longer support SecuROM and SafeDisc. I for one am happy to see SecuROM (a rootkit) go away along with the install limit. With optical drives going away SafeDisc is useless much like the rest of the anti piracy attempts. If you don't have phone service on Sunday how do you contact emergency services on Sunday - just curious?
Actually, I meant that the EA helpline is shut on Sundays - at least, according to their "Contact Us" page after I'd filled in the information.
